SCSSA BPCR SILHOUETTE MATCH

Gate opens at 7 AM Central Time
Weather: We will try to shoot whenever possible but tornado watches
and severe thunder storm warnings will justify canceling the match.

I will be there before
8:00 AM to set up targets HELP WILL BE APPRECIATED.
Registration will begin after targets are set.
Please arrive early enough to unload your equipment before the
mandatory safety meeting at
8:30. The first round will need to be fired at
9:00 Am.
The match entry fee will be $25. This match fee will help pay for
the new target stands, range improvements, and pay SCSSA $5 for each
shooter.
The match will be run as a “fun match” but safety will apply at all
times. Eye and hearing protection is required on SCSSA ranges. If
you are not a member of SCSSA you must have a signed SCSSA liability
waiver on file to shoot. I will have the forms at the match.
NRA BPCR Silhouette rules will apply whenever possible.
Each relay will be 4 shooters at 1 bank of ten targets. You will
need 40 rounds plus sighters. Bring a lunch and water, come prepared
to stay all day, 4 relays may take from
9am to
3pm.
We will be shooting Chickens off hand at 200 yards.
the pigs at 300 yards, turkeys at 385 yards and rams at 440 yards
will be shot from a prone or sitting position on the concrete pad
between the bench rest tables. Bring a shooting pad and cross
sticks. The rams are a full size target for 500 yards but until we
can get a berm at 500 yards we will shoot them at 440 yards.
Awards at this time will be bragging rights for 1st place.
Categories:
1. Single Shot Rifle Class - typical types: Sharps, Ballard,
Browning High Wall, Remington Rolling Block, Springfield Trapdoor.
All types must have exposed hammers.
Calibers and Bullet Requirements:
1. Typical calibers used in Single Shot Rifle Class are: 38-55;
40-65; 45-70; 45-90; 45-110; 45-120; 50-70; 50-100; 50-110. Typical
calibers used in Lever Action Rifle Class are: 30-30; 38-55;
40-65:45-70.
2. All bullets must be of lead alloy, cast or swaged. No jacketed
bullets allowed.
3. Black-powder or black-powder substitutes such as Pyrodex, etc.
are allowed. Smokeless powder is allowed if loaded to black powder
equivalent velocities.
Smokeless loads will shoot as a separate category.
4. Paper patched bullets are allowed if cast or swaged lead alloy.
5. The only approved sights are of a design consistent with those
used prior to 1895.
Historically correct old style scopes will be allowed but
will shoot as a separate category.
6. Rifles may be cleaned on the bench behind the firing line.
ACTIONS MUST BE LEFT OPEN AND NO AMMO ALLOWED.

Take Exit 10 on I-459
and turn west on Highway 150. Left at the Shell on South Shades
Crest Road, the entrance will be on your left, after the next red
light.
Be cautious on the
entrance road, it is a narrow one lane with limited visibility.
The entrance is
secured with a gate that will be open when there is a match
scheduled. The range is approximately 7/10 mile from the gate.
SCSSA BPCR RANGE
COMMANDS
1. RELAY – COME TO
THE LINE- Shooters may move
their equipment to the firing line.
2. READY-
you will have a 30 second prep period to prepare for firing.
3. FIRE-
this command starts your 12 minute time for sighters on the swinger
and 10 shots for score on 10 targets.
If we are shooting 5 targets your time will
be 6 minutes for sighters and 5 shots for score. After a shooter
declares they are shooting for score they may not shoot any sighter
shots.
4. CEASE FIRE-
Stop shooting, open actions and remain on the firing line.
5. ARE THERE ANY
ALIBIS?
6. MAKE THE LINE
SAFE- Clear your rifle, open the
action and remove your rifle
from the firing line.
7. RANGE IS COLD,
GO DOWN PAINT AND RESET TARGETS
