BROCK’S GAP
TRAINING CENTER NRA APPROVED BPCR SILHOUETTE MATCH
One of the most popular silhouette shooting sports in the South East
is Black Powder Cartridge Rifle Silhouette (BPCRS). There are
several ranges in the Alabama, Georgia and Mississippi area that
host the BPCRS match at various ranges. We are fortunate that we
have a 500 yard range for our match. In this match a team of shooter
and spotter use an authentic or reproduction single shot rifle to
knock down four different animal shaped steel silhouettes at four
different ranges. The sport was organized in 1985 by shooters who
recognized the interest in black powder cartridge rifles of the era
preceding 1896. BPCRS harkens back to a time of big-bore single shot
rifles, long-range shooting and buffalo hunting.
If you remember growing up shooting cans with 22’s you will love
this match. The difference is the guns and targets are bigger and
more fun to shoot. We would like to invite you to join us at Brock’s
Gap Training Center. If you are interested in the match see the club
link below for a copy of our program.
