Due to popular
demand, we're increasing the number of 3-gun matches we have during
the year. Rather than just spring and fall events, we
will now hold a quarterly 3-gun match. The first
three of these will be conducted just like the regular 2-gun events;
that is, no registration necessary, just show up, pay the match fee,
and shoot. The last match, held in the fourth quarter, will be
an "invitational" event for those who place high enough in the
rankings during previous matches. For this particular event we will
have 40 slots available. The invitational will have a registration process, a match
t-shirt, and awards to highlight the special nature of the match.
The Invitational Match will require a prepaid match fee in order to
secure the slots. Shooters who qualify for the Invitational
Match will be notified in October. Stay
tuned for more details as they become available.

General Info
For those
not familiar with our 3-gun event, it is a variation of our
regular Pistol/Shotgun match with a carbine for added fun
and excitement. This match varies slightly from the typical
multi-gun match in certain respects, but particularly regarding the
carbine. Given that the maximum range at which a carbine
target will be engaged is approximately 40 yards, pistol-caliber
carbines are allowed. The general rules about irons and optics
remain in effect. Calibers allowed are 9X19 and larger
(excluding magnum ammunition for handguns). Shotgun rounds
will be birdshot only, no slugs or buckshot allowed. No
armor-piercing or tracer ammunition is allowed. Scoring may
involve 2 or more hits per paper or steel target depending on the
stage. With the caveats listed above in mind, please review
the standard multi-gun rules linked below for additional details
regarding safety rules and general equipment guidelines. Any
additional Practical/Tactical 3-Gun-specific rules will be addressed
during the shooter briefing prior to the match.
This is a fun
match geared towards all levels of shooters, from experts to novices
in competitive shooting. However, please be thoroughly
familiar with the functioning of your firearms before attending the
match.
